Hydrovac Operator

Location: Calgary, AB, Canada

Job Status: Full-Time

Pay: Competitive

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Daylighting and soft excavating for telecom, hydro, gas, and water
  • Ensure health and safety is the top priority by following policies and acting safely at all times
  • Perform pre and post-trip inspections, routine maintenance, and general housekeeping for Hydro Vac
  • Complete daily paperwork
  • Set up and inspect grounding and/or bonding procedures during Hydrovac operation
  • Handle and distribute construction materials, load/unload vehicles, and remove debris from work sites

Experience

  • 2-3 years of experience operating a Hydro Vac
  • Previous experience in telecommunications is an asset

Skills & Aptitudes

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Must have and maintain a minimum valid Class 1 or Class 3 license and provide a clean driver's abstract

Pre-employment

  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug & alcohol requirements and security clearance process

Working Conditions:

  • Able to meet the physical requirements involving sitting, standing, bending, climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in all weather conditions (rain, snow, heat, etc.)
