Facility Health and Safety Professional

Location: Medicine Hat, AB

Salary: $25/hr to $28/hr DOE

Position: Full time

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assisting current Compliance Coordinators with data entry
• documentation review and updating
• reviewing completed forms and permits
• filing items for record retention, and policy reviews and updating
• Work could include reviewing SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures) and JHA's (Job  Hazard Assessments) after receiving additional training
• Constantly striving towards achieving the goal of Only Zero is Acceptable through  employee engagement, leading by example, and innovative thinking.
• Ensure that a Safe Working Environment is maintained at all times by enforcing Company  standards, ensuring that unsafe behavior and conditions are corrected, and following up  on regular inspections.
• Be the Driver and support all Safety Initiatives.
• Responsible for assisting with the implementation and application of all company Health  and Safety, Food Safety, Environmental, Quality, Sanitation, Pest Control, and Operational  principles.
• Ensure that the location is in constant compliance with all WCB and Federal regulations,  policies and guidelines.
• Develop, implement and maintain current all programs, records, and reporting as they  relate to Health and Safety, Food Safety, Governmental and Environmental Compliance.
• Communicate daily to management on issues regarding Plant Safety, Food Safety and  Environmental issues.

Experience:

Minimum of 3 years of working experience in the related field is preferred.

Competencies

• Strong background and/or academics related to Health and Safety or Food Processing and  Food Safety Standards would be preferred.
• You should have excellent command of the following skill sets: computers, communications, problem solving, and leadership skills, as well as the ability to walk, climb ladders, use tools,  work in confined spaces, and extreme temperatures.
• Capable of working in both an office and industrial environment for extended periods of time.
