Heavy Equipment Operators Earning $63.70+ per hour, 7&7 shifts in Fort McMurray, AB

SMS Equipment is growing! We are looking for a Boom Truck Operator, Journeyperson to join our team. The Boom Truck Operator, Journeyperson is responsible for assisting with rigging in and loading and unloading of all equipment in the yard. This position is based in Fort McMurray, AB.

The shift rotation for this position is 7x7.

The hourly rate for this position is $63.70 per hour plus applicable premiums.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Operate different types of machinery, including forklifts, overhead shop cranes, yard crawler cranes and boom truck.
• Disassemble and assemble buckets, side frames, haul truck builds, shovel builds and mining equipment.
• Rotating of buckets, side frames, dump bodies and components in yard and shops to speed up the welding and assembly process.
• Moving equipment in and out shops for all departments with lowbed tractor trailer (buckets, boxes, chassis’, engine modules, side frames etc.)
• Maintenance and upkeep of the yard, in winter perform snow removal with loader, skid steer and sand truck.
• Other duties as required.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years previous experience. Other requirements include:

• Valid Class 1 driver’s license.
• Valid Boom Truck Journeyperson ticket.
• Highly motivated and ability to work unsupervised.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Experience operating forklifts, overhead shop cranes and yard crawler cranes is an asset.
