• Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience

• Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years

• Work site environment: Outdoors, Hot, Cold

Work setting: Various locations, Willing to relocate, Golderado Contracting Corp. has office locations in Merritt, BC; Calgary, AB; Fort Saskatchewan, AB; and Saskatoon, Saskatchewan but work will be on site in various construction sites. Job sites in British Colombia may include Merritt, Kamloops, Princeton, Vernon, Golden, Kelowna, Victoria, and Vancouver. Job sites in Alberta may include Edmonton Area, Calgary Area, Fort MacMurray, Grande Prairie, and Medicine Hat. Job sites in Saskatchewan may include Saskatoon, Regina, Moose Jaw, and North Battleford.

Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots

Type of industry experience: Industrial/commercial/institutional (ICI) construction, Large diameter pipeline construction - watermain, sewer, Residential construction, Road construction, Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses: Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate, Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS) Certificate, Ground Disturbance - Level 2 program

Types of heavy equipment operated: 

• Backhoe excavator, loader, Bulldozer, large or small, Grader

Area of work experience: 

• Backfilling

• Ditching

• Excavation

• Fine grading and finishing

• Rough grading

• Sloping and banking

• Stripping

• Sub-grade excavator

• Trenching

Tasks: 

• Operate heavy equipment

• Clean and lubricate equipment and refill equipment tanks

• Operate computer controlled equipment

• Complete onboard and other logs

• Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment

• Prepare accident reports

• Secure special attachments to equipment

• Operator GPD (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment, Operate two-way radios and other communication equipment

• Operator hydraulic pumping systems

Security and safety: 

• Driving record check (abstract)

• Drug & alcohol test may be required

Transportation/travel information: 

• Own transportation

• Own vehicle,

• Willing to travel

• Willing to travel regularly

• Valid driver's license

• Public transportation is not available
