What Ledcor is Hiring for:

Pipefitters

Location: Fort McMurray and Edmonton, AB

Term: 2 years (time limited position, project based)

No. of Positions: 75

Language of Work: English

Wage: $48.30/hour  

Schedule

  • 14 days on 7 days off, 
  • 10 hours per day shift rotation.

Benefits Package: 

  • Overtime at 1.5 times wage rate after 8 hours/day (as per existing collective agreement).
  • Benefits (as per existing collective agreement with CLAC) including extended health coverage, dental, optical, prescription drug plan, short term & long term disability, life insurance, accidental death & disability coverage and emergency travel.
  • Site-based, camp accommodation provided
  • Provided Charter Flights from either Edmonton or Calgary, or travel allowance for out-of-province candidates

Essential Responsibilities / Job Duties:

  • Demonstrates knowledge of functional operation of various piping system components by measuring, cutting, threading, and bolting up, valves and fittings
  • Performs bolt up, rigging, and hydro testing
  • Assembles and installs piping sections according to blueprints and job specifications
  • Working safely in a team environment such as working with a crew of pipefitters or working with a welder
  • Performs physically demanding tasks such as cutting openings for pipe while standing for extended periods of time and securing pipe in hard to reach areas
  • Uses testing equipment effectively to check for system leaks and troubleshoot fitting errors

Qualifications:

  • Must possess a Journeyperson Steamfitter/Pipefitter certification from a recognized Canadian provincial training authority.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must successfully complete pre-access drug and alcohol testing

Work Conditions:

  • Long term projects, site based, camp provided
  • Charter Flights from either Edmonton or Calgary, or travel allowance for out-of-province candidates who qualify
  • 14 days on 7 days off, 10 hours per day shift rotation
  • Benefits provided by CLAC
