What Adecco is Hiring for:

Position: Health and Safety Advisor.

Location: Calgary, AB

Shifts: Monday – Friday, 8 hours/day.

Job Type: Full-time, Long-Term Contract.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage Health and Safety stewardship reporting, incident and leading indicator reporting, and analysis.
  • Track and communicate performance reports, safety metrics, and trends.
  • Lead safety metrics dashboard development and improvement.
  • Provide support to business unit users for reporting and trending.
  • Conduct and participate in incident investigations.
  • Foster collaboration between health and safety teams.
  • Assist in developing and actioning management system gap closure plans.
  • Support the implementation and sustainment of safety projects, programs, standards, and campaigns.
  • Coach and mentor front-line leaders and staff on occupational safety.
  • Participate in the contractor safety management review/evaluation process.
  • Perform assurance activities in the field and monitor compliance of H&S requirements.
  • Provide an independent view of risk from operations.

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certified Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) or equivalent.

Experience

  • 3-7 years of experience in a Health and Safety environment.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a health and safety business analyst role.
  • 3-7 years of experience with Incident Investigations and Root Cause Analysis.
  • 3-7 years of working knowledge of performing safety audits and inspections.

Certificates & Licenses

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driver's abstract.
  • Compliance with the Company's alcohol and drug policy.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe, Spotfire, PowerBI.
  • Working knowledge of Regulatory requirements in an oil and gas environment.
  • Experience with safety software, apps, and web-based applications.
  • Flexible to travel as needed.
  • Ability to work occasional overtime and assume on-call responsibilities.
  • Self-motivated, strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills in all forms.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in the Retail/convenience industry.
  • Experience with Terminals, product loading/unloading.
  • Working knowledge of SAP or other Enterprise software.
  • Experience with 3rd party consultants and contractors.
  • Operating experience in the oil & gas industry.
  • Business Analyst Certificate.
  • Occupational Health and Safety Certificate/Diploma or Degree from a recognized post-secondary institution.

Legal Eligibility: 

  • Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada.

  • Clear criminal background and satisfactory reference checks.
