Municipal Engineer II

Location: Medicine Hat, AB

Position: Full-time

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct engineering review and technical regulatory approval in all phases of land development.
• Ensure adherence to industry practices, municipal standards, and City policies.
• Collaborate effectively with internal departments, partners, and the public.
• Demonstrate a commitment to public service and community impact.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Thorough technical knowledge of civil engineering, covering municipal infrastructure and land development lifecycle management.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for team collaboration.
• Effective workload and priority management to meet deadlines and departmental objectives.
• Detail-oriented with a flexible approach to work assignments.
• Leadership skills for multidiscipline meetings.
• Knowledge of applicable government acts, regulations, codes, directives, municipal standards, and guidelines.
• Experience in project engineering or project management.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized post-secondary institution.
• Professional Membership in, or the ability to become a Professional Member of, APEGA.

• Valid class 5 Alberta Motor Vehicle driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Experience

• Five (5) years of directly related experience as a Professional Engineer.

Education

• Equivalent combination of management-approved training and education considered.
