What Kiewit is Hiring for:
Surveying Technician
Location: Laval, QC
Job Level: Entry Level
Pay: $19.00 to 26.98 per hour DOE
Employment Type: Full Time
Responsibilities:
- Survey office calculations using AutoDesk programs (Civil 3D and TBC)
- Quantity calculations for excavation, backfill, concrete structure volume, and more
- Drafting plan views, profile views, and sections for excavation and roads
- Occasional field support as a surveyor
Education
- Diploma: DEP – Vocational School in Surveying Technician
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic knowledge of Civil 3D, Trimble, Network adjustment, and Inroad (an asset)
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry for calculations (area, volume)
Personal Aptitudes
- Dynamic thinker with leadership potential
- Self-starter with a strong work ethic
- Good written and verbal communication skills (French and English)
- Commitment to safety and quality work
- Willingness to combine office work with field operations
Additional Requirements:
- Functional knowledge of English (written and verbal) considered an asset
- Regular, reliable attendance
- Ability to work productively, meet deadlines, and communicate effectively
Work Conditions
- Willingness to work during normal operating hours and overtime/weekends as required
- May work at various locations with varying conditions
