Abrams Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Location: El Paso, TX

Pay Rate: $25.68 per hour

Abrams Tanks: 

• M1A1ED, M1A2SEP V2, M104, HAB
• Other tracked/wheeled vehicles.  

Responsibilities:

• This role involves identifying technical problems, assisting Field Service Representatives in performing maintenance tasks, and fulfilling other duties as assigned by leadership.
• Perform modification and maintenance tasks on Abrams Tanks and other tracked/wheeled vehicles.
• Contribute to program planning, schedules, and maintenance techniques.
• Identify and address technical problems, assisting Field Service Representatives as needed.
• Fulfill additional duties as assigned by maintenance leadership.

Qualifications:

• One (1) or more years of maintenance experience working with Abrams Tanks.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Knowledge & Skills

• Effective communication skills (both oral and written).
• Ability to operate in a team and cross-functional environment.
• Efficient knowledge of Microsoft Applications.
• Ability to gain access to US Military facilities or bases.

• Must meet anthropometric requirements for entry into the driver’s station or enclosed military vehicles.
• Understanding of customer contacts and relationships.
• Accountability for assigned tools and property.
• Adherence to shop safety operations.
• Ability to work autonomously with government personnel.

Physical Requirements

• Capable of working at heights, lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, climbing, kneeling, stooping, bending, and working in extreme temperatures and weather conditions.

Certificates & Licenses

• Must possess a valid State Driver’s License and be able to obtain a tank driver’s license, if required.
