Snowmaker

Location: Kananaskis Region

Position: Full-Time

Hours of Work: 40 hours per week

Pay: $19.84 – $ 23.86 per hour

Job Type: Seasonal

Period: November 2023 till January 2024

Job Details

• Safe operation and maintenance of snowmaking fan guns and air/water guns, pumps, compressors, valves, hoses and tools
• Operating side-by-sides, snow machines, ATV’s, trucks,  and mobile machinery
• Assisting with trail packing, grooming and track setting
• Interacting with the public in a professional manner and maintaining visitor experience 
• Working independently with limited supervision
• Using good judgment and having the ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Knowledge & Skills

• Ensure there is adherence to all pertinent policies, procedures, and protocols, including Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) and Government of Alberta guidelines,
• Have a mechanical aptitude and equipment operating experience including the ability to troubleshoot equipment and the ability to work outdoors in the winter for long periods of time
• Have the ability to support and work with other team members within the Kananaskis Region and at Canmore Nordic Centre Provincial Park
• If needed, lead and participate in emergency and evacuation protocols to provide support to visitors and staff in an emergency situation

Education:

• Some high school education 

Certificates & Licenses

• Valid Class 5 Drivers License
• Recognized Current Standard First Aid and CPR Level "C"/AED Certificate

Experience

• Experience with snowmaking operations, operating snowmobiles, ATV’s, tractors or agricultural equipment

Knowledge & Skills

• Good mechanical and troubleshooting skills to identify mechanical or operational issues
• Well-developed oral and written English skills to effectively communicate with others
• Familiarity with Nordic skiing (Classic, Biathlon, Skate)
• Familiarity with Kananaskis Region and surrounding area
