Journeyman Electrician

Location: Truro, NS

Pay Rate: $65,000 - $75,000/year

Shifts: Compressed work week with four 10-hour days (3 day weekends!)

Job Type: Full-time | Permanent

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Read and Interpret Drawings:Understand and follow blueprints and wiring diagrams for wiring and equipment installations.
  2. Install Renewable Energy Systems:Install electrical infrastructure for renewable energy systems, including solar photovoltaic, battery storage, generators, and energy dashboards.
  3. Conduct System Testing and Troubleshooting:Test electrical systems and circuits to ensure compatibility and safety.
  4. Maintenance and Repair:Perform routine maintenance and repair on electrical systems and equipment.
  5. Adhere to Safety Standards:Comply with safety regulations and building codes, ensuring safe working conditions.
  6. Collaborate with Construction Teams:Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other tradespeople for coordinated project completion.
  7. Document Work and Progress:Keep detailed records of work, materials used, and project progress.
  8. Stay Updated with Industry Developments:Continuously update knowledge on electrical and renewable energy systems, building codes, safety regulations, and construction industry technology.

Qualifications:

  • Red Seal Journeyperson Certificate required
  • Experience with medium and high voltage terminations

Work Conditions

  • Willing to travel throughout Atlantic Canada
  • Commitment to learning and adhering to the highest safety standards

Pre-employment

  • Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada
