Red Seal Millwright or Electrical Journeyman

Location: Delta, BC 

Job Type: Full Time

Pay: $39.75 per hour DOE

Experience: 

• 3-5 years in a busy plant environment

Character & Abilities:

• Able to lift up to 23kg.
• Multitasker with the ability to juggle priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Detail-oriented with excellent hand-eye coordination.
• Makes sound and safe judgments.
• Independent operator requiring minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of relevant experience in a busy plant environment.
• Red Seal Millwright or Electrician certification.

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong background in electrical diagnostics and repair.
• Experience and ability to troubleshoot PLC and program logic an asset.
• Working Knowledge of HMI as they relate to processing, filling equipment in a food-manufacturing environment.
• Strong computer skills including MS Office Suite.
• Excellent mathematical and mechanical skills.
• Great interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).

Job Details:

• Unionized department.
• 9- or 12-hour shifts, depending on scheduled shift.
• 36-hour regular work week schedule.
• Shift start and end times will vary, with Days, Afternoons, or Evening Shifts.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Read blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
• Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect irregularities and malfunctions.
• Operate hoisting and lifting devices for machinery positioning during installation, set-up, and repair.
• Install, align, take apart, and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment.
• Adjust machinery, repair, or replace defective parts.
• Clean, lubricate, and perform routine maintenance work on machinery.
• Install, troubleshoot, and maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and programmable logic controls.
• Operate machine tools for fabrication.
• Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand and power tools and welding equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.
