What WORKFORCE is Hiring for:

Maintenance Supervisor

Location: Duncan, BC

Job Type: Direct

Hours: Full Time

Pay: Competitive + Performance bonus potential

Responsibilities

-Give direction to the the unionized maintenance team and contractors to make sure all  equipment is operating to capacity and meeting required production targets (schedules,  quality, costing, etc)

-Supervise all maintenance activities 

-Be apart of hiring, training and mentoring as well as performance management of  maintenance employees

-Leading by example in safety and environmental practice and making sure adherence of  company and industry policies and standards are met 

-Analyze downtime reports and identify areas of opportunity 

-Develop preventative maintenance schedules and workflow that help with cost and also  maximize operational efficiency 

-Promote pro-active maintenance and implement regular checks of equipment 

-Planned maintenance scheduling for critical repairs to minimize downtime and promote  efficiency 

-Assist purchasing department with parts for repairs in a cost effective manner and being  aware of inventory management 

-Quality control of all repairs and maintenance done to be in accordance with WorksafeBC  standards and company standards

Certificates, Licences & Tickets

-Red seal millwright ticket and or mechanical engineering degree 

Experience

-Minimum of 5 years experience in a supervisory role

-Background in sawmill, maintenance and fast-paced manufacturing environments preferred

-Experience working or managing in a union environment

-Experience using CMMS systems 

Competencies

-Strong communication and delegation skills 

-High organizational and prioritization skills

-Strong safety background
