Pay: $43-46/hr

Work Conditions

• Some shift flexibility  

Responsibilities 

• Planning new or modified installation to minimize waste of materials, provide access for  future maintenance, and avoid unsightly, hazardous and unreliable wiring, consistent with specifications and local electrical codes.
• Preparing sketches showing location of wiring and equipment or follows diagrams or  blueprints, ensuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls,  ceilings and flooring.
• Measuring, cutting, bending, threading, assembling and installing electrical conduit.
• Pulling wiring through conduit.
• Splicing wires by stripping insulation from terminal leads, twisting or soldering wires  together and applying tape or terminal caps.
• Connecting wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment.
• Installing control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays and circuit-breaker panels.
• Connecting power cables to equipment such as electric range or motor and installs  grounding leads.
• Testing continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components  with testing instruments such as Ohmmeter, battery and buzzer and oscilloscope 
• Other duties as required.

Certificates & Licences

Industrial Electrician Trade Qualification (BC or Interprovincial, Red Seal preferred)

Experience

• 2+ years of maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment 

Knowledge & Skills

• Hydraulics, pneumatics, welding and machining skills
• Good attitude, work ethic, and communication skills
