Electrical Engineer - EV Battery Launch 

Position: Full-time role 

Location: St. Thomas, ON

Job type: Permanent | Full-time

Travel

  • Involves occasional travel to Europe (~10%).

Detailed Job Description 

  • Performing on-site project engineering tasks related to construction.
  • Coordinating and monitoring assigned tasks and projects, ensuring adherence to deadlines, quality, and cost targets.
  • Interpreting project documents to determine requirements and action plans.
  • Overseeing quality control/quality assurance in construction and design aspects.
  • Preparing reports on project status and compliance.
  • Representing technical topics to the project team.
  • Reviewing engineering deliverables and initiating corrective actions.
  • Managing external service providers.
  • Conducting site inspections and resolving technical difficulties during the construction phase.
  • Developing labor and material cost estimates.
  • Representing the Owner's interests on site for Electrical Engineering topics.
  • Collaborating with team members and contributing to construction meetings.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant local building codes and permits.

Personal Aptitudes

  • International mindset with an interest in global work and diverse teams.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Architecture, or related field, or equivalent.

Experience

  • 8+ years of experience in the construction industry, preferably with execution of industrial facilities.
  • Experience working on large projects and Design-Build projects.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Familiarity with construction drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to work safely on active construction sites.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on project goals.
  • Proficiency in construction scheduling, workflows, and quality control/quality assurance.
  • Fluent in MS Office suite (Office, Excel, PowerPoint).

Pre-employment

  • Legally eligible to work and reside in Canada.
