What Acden is Hiring for:

Acden Environment is currently accepting applications for a Class 1/3 Operator to join its Suncor Base Plant operations in Fort McMurray, Alberta. This local position will consist of 7 days on, 7 days off; 12-hour day shifts; however, schedules, shifts and site locations may change from time to time to meet operational requirements. Local transportation between Fort McMurray, AB and the worksite will be provided.

What you'll be doing

  • Maintain waste services through collection and transportation of waste and equipment Operate roll off truck and a loader with rotator attachment
  • Complete thorough Commercial Vehicle Inspections, including documenting and reporting deficiencies promptly to immediate supervisor
  • Inspect condition of waste bins, report defects, and monitor condition and functionality
  • Notify dispatch of delays, unsafe work sites, incidents, equipment breakdowns and/or maintenance or operation concerns
  • Ensure all waste services are completed in a safe and timely manner
  • Address and resolve client concerns and when appropriate refer inquires to Leadership

What do you bring to the table?

  • Valid Class 1 or 3 Operator's License with airbrake endorsment is required
  • Successfully complete a driver's evaluation on a manual 18-speed Class 1/3 vehicle is required
  • Eligible to work on all Acden clients is required
  • Experience with manual transmission and previous Roll Off experience is an asset
  • Valid Common Safety Orientation (CSO); BSO certificate, or a combination of CSTS & OSSA is required
  • Load securement experience as per the Alberta Provincial Hours of Service Regulations is an asset
  • Three (3) or more years of professional truck driving experience adhering to the Alberta Provincial hours of service is required
  • Ability to obtain clearance on drug, alcohol, hearing, and physical abilities pre-employment testing is required; this role is designated as safety-sensitive
