Seasonal Opportunity: Collection Driver Positions - Earn Up To $37.17/Hour DOE

Seasonal Collection Driver

Location: Calgary, Alberta, Canada

Job Type: Temporary (Seasonal)

Compensation:  

• Pay Grade 2: $31.80 - $35.24 per hour
• Pay Grade 3: $33.56 - $37.17 per hour

Qualifications:

• Valid Class 3 Driver's Licence (or provincial equivalent) with a Q endorsement and no more than six demerits, and no current suspension or charges pending.

Experience

• At least 2 years of recent Class 3 driving experience (preferred for all positions).

Education

• High School diploma or equivalency (e.g., GED) considered an asset.

Knowledge & Skills

• Basic computer skills required.
• Safety-conscious, willing to wear required personal protective equipment.
• Ability to complete tasks with limited supervision, engage others, and interact with co-workers and the public based on the City of Calgary's 4 Cs essential behaviours (character, competence, commitment, and collaboration).
• Willingness and availability to work a variety of shifts, weekends, and paid holidays.
• Willingness and availability to work in various locations across Calgary.

Working Conditions:

• Ability to lift up to a maximum of 20 kg.
• Must withstand frequent periods of lifting, sitting, standing, driving, climbing in and out of trucks, pushing, and pulling.
• Work in dusty conditions and all types of weather conditions.

Pre-employment Requirements:

• Skills testing for appropriate skills.
• Must obtain a City of Calgary operator's permit.
• Interview and hiring throughout the competition duration.
• Successful applicants must provide proof of qualifications.
• Conditional offer of employment based on a 3-year commercial driver's abstract with no more than 6 demerits.
• Pre-employment drug test assessing drug use, including cannabis.

Days of Work:

• 4-day work week. 
• Shifts vary to provide coverage for 7-day operations.
