CDL-A Driver/Heavy Equipment

Type: Temp-Perm

Location: Dallas, TX  

Pay: $22.50.-$23.00 per hour DOE

Hours: Monday – Friday 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM and Saturday 8:00 AM – 12:00 pm

Responsibilities:

• Local driving
• Commercial Class A (CDL)
• Unloading and loading heavy equipment onto flatbed (backhoes, forklifts, excavators etc.)
• Able to strap and tarp the load independently
• Assist in maintaining the equipment when not out on deliveries
• Must be good with spending most of time in the yard loading equipment for customers
• Must be open to cross train as necessary and work in other areas when there this is nothing to load or deliver as you could be helping with customer service or other things as needed (must be a team player and open to this)
  

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Knowledge & skills

• Mechanically inclined.
• Must possess the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be knowledgeable of safety practices and procedures.
• Must have good customer skills
  
• Must be able to load a flatbed and secure loads
• Ability to operate a pallet jack, forklift (certification preferred but not required)

Physical Requirements

• Able to handle physical workload and lift up to 50 lbs. consistently
• Must be able to work in the heat and in the cold.

• Must be able to work the hours set for this position plus overtime.
  

Qualities

• Must be a self-starter and have the initiative to learn.
• Deadline oriented

Languages

• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus

Experience

• 3 – 5 years’ experience with heavy equipment
