Senior Electrical Engineer

Location: Toronto, ON

Job Type: Direct

Hours: Full-Time

Travel: 

• Yes, approximately 25-30% of the year

Compensation:

• Base salary up to $140,000 + bonus.
• Benefits, RRSP, and relocation incentive for those open to moving to the GTA.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee plant maintenance and customer projects, focusing on power distribution systems and electrical equipment.
• Perform power system studies and prepare electrical design documents.
• Review designs produced by external electrical consultants.
• Ensure electrical designs conform to company and industry standards.
• Develop, maintain, and revise company electrical engineering standards.

CAPEX Project Management:

• Oversee and manage all CAPEX projects related to electrical and power systems/equipment.
• Participate in design support for electrical projects involving High Voltage, Medium Voltage, and Low Voltage power distribution systems.
• Handle commissioning, installation, and maintenance activities.

Qualifications:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems Specialty) or related discipline.
• 10-15 years of relevant engineering experience.
• P. Eng Designation.
• Master Industrial Electrician (preferred).

Knowledge & Skills

• Expert knowledge and experience with Electrical Power Systems (HV/MV/LV), power transmission, and distribution design, installation, commissioning & maintenance.

• Proficient in EasyPower, ETAP, and/or SKM, Computer skills (excluding CADD).
• Leadership skills.
• Strong health and safety mindset.

Experience

• Experience in high power D.C. rectifiers, substation design, grounding, protection, and control.
• Experience in Chemical or Petro-Chemical Industries preferred.

Pre-employment

• Valid driver’s license and passport.
• Legally entitled to work in Canada.
