Spot & TIG Welders 

Location: Salt Lake City, UT

Pay: $20.00 - $28.00/hr DOE

 Job Type: Direct Hire

Position: Full time, Temp to hire

Duration: Long-term

Schedule
  • 1st & 2nd Shifts Available

  •  Weekend work required
  • Various shifts available (Monday through Friday from 06:00am to 06:00pm)

Job Details

  • Lay out, fit, and fabricate metal components to assemble structural forms, such as building members, columns, joists, frames, stairs, railings and other parts, using knowledge of welding techniques, metallurgy, and engineering requirements.
  • Tack-welds or welds components and assemblies, using electric, gas, arc, or other welding equipment.
  • Cuts work piece, using powered saws, hand shears, or chipping knife.
  • Observes tests on welded surfaces, such as hydrostatic, x-ray, and dimension tolerance to evaluate instruments.
  • Removes rough spots from work piece, using portable grinder, hand file, or scraper.
  • Welds components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions. Heats, forms, and dresses metal parts, using hand tools, torch, or arc welding equipment.

Certificates & Licences

  • Previous MIG or TIG experience required.

Education

  • Prefer High School diploma, GED or equivalent work experience.

Experience

  • At least 6 months of recent welding experience

Competencies

  • Must maintain a low error/rejection rate
  • Must be able to assist others in similar work

Tools & Equipment

  • Must have your own welding PPE
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from job site

Pre-employment

  • Applicant may be subject to a background check
  • Pre-employment drug screen is required as a condition of employment
  • Weld Test
