Operator - Highway Maintenance

Location: White River, ON

Job Status: Full-Time

Pay: Up to $20hr DOE

Essential Responsibilities:

• Operate snowplow trucks, wheel loaders, and other heavy equipment as required
• Maintain Ontario Provincial Highways year-round, including assisting with Labourer duties (pothole repair, guardrail repair, bridge and signage cleaning, hazard remediation, etc.)
• Work outside in all weather conditions

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid AZ or DZ driver’s license with air endorsement
• Must provide a copy of a 3-year driver’s abstract

Experience

• Previous experience operating a snowplow truck and/or wheel loader is a strong asset

Residential Requirements

• Preference given to applicants residing in Agawa, Batchawana, Chapleau, Goulais River, White River, Wawa, and Thessalon, Ontario
• Accommodations provided for out-of-town applicants

Work Conditions

• Some shift work, on-call, and night shift required as response to various weather patterns
• Work schedules consist of either 5 consecutive days followed by 2 days off or 6 consecutive days followed by 1 day off, with daily shifts lasting 8 to 12 hours
• Seasonal work from September to May
