What Elwood Staffing is Hiring for:

Heavy Duty Automotive Technician

Location: Charlotte, NC 28214

Job Type: Temporary

Pay: $20.00/hour

Schedule:  

  • Full Time, First Shift
  • Monday through Friday 
  • 05:30 am to 02:00 pm

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Installing minor modifications such as back up cameras, auxiliary power units, electronic log kits, decals, running fuel lines, electrical wiring harnesses, etc.
  • Frame drilling and installing components.
  • Performing wiring techniques.
  • Installing telematics systems.
  • Performing PDI operations or performing drive prep.
  • Installing new fuel lines, fuel tanks, etc.
  • Working on Class 7 & 8 trucks; bolt-on modification kits, some fabrication, and mechanical work.
  • Decal applications.

Experience

  • Automobile or truck mechanic skills 
  • Shade tree mechanic experience OK
  • Mechanical experience preferred.

Work Conditions

  • Ability to work 40-hour weeks plus overtime if required.

Physical Requirements

  • Lifting and installing components up to 45 pounds.

Tools & Equipment

  • Impact wrench and drill or ability to acquire tools after 90 days of employment.
