Recreation Labourer 

Location: Calgary, AB

Opening: Up to 20 Temporary Part-Time positions

Compensation: $28.82 - $31.91 per hour

Schedule

• Up to 19 hours per week
• Might require your availability for overtime during weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Job details

• Cleaning and maintaining various areas within the facility.
• Garbage collection and disposal.
• Washroom cleaning and restocking.
• Assisting with minor repairs and facility shutdowns.
• Snow and graffiti removal, de-icing, and sanding.
• Supporting program and equipment setup and cleanup.
• Assisting with ice maintenance and sport field upkeep.

Experience

• Minimum 6 months experience in labor, landscaping, custodial work, or arena operations.

Certificates & Licenses

• Current Intermediate First Aid and CPR Level "C" certification (valid within 12 months).
• Valid Class 5 Driver's License with a good driving record.

• Arena Operator Level 1 & 2 certification is an asset.

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED preferred).

Working Conditions: 

• The role involves exposure to weather conditions, noise, dirt, insects, cleaning chemicals, and slippery surfaces. 

Physical Requirements

• Include lifting (up to 55 lbs.), bending, kneeling, standing, walking, and operating machinery/tools.

Pre-employment 

• Clear Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sector Search (within the last 12 months).
• City of Calgary operator's permit.
• Successful applicants must provide proof of qualifications.
• Pre-employment drug test assessing drug use, including cannabis.
