Building Operator Wanted: Full-Time Position - $42k-$45k/year - Toronto, ON

Location: Toronto, ON
Pay Rate: $42,000 to $45,000 per annum
Shifts: Day shift
Job Type: Permanent | Full-time

Responsibilities:  

• Conducting preventive and corrective maintenance on various building structures, systems, equipment, and furnishings.
• Performing inspections on mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, structural, life safety, and security systems.
• Operating and maintaining tools and equipment, including power tools and John Deere garden tractor.
• Collaborating with outside contractors for seamless operation and emergency response.
• Assisting with janitorial and groundskeeping duties, as well as the setup of office and program equipment.

Education

• Post-Secondary training in Building Systems, HVAC, and/or Mechanical.

Experience

• 3+ years of related experience as a tradesperson.

Knowledge & Skills

• Computer literacy, including the use of Maintenance Management programs and email.
• Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
• Ability to follow directions, schedules, and checklists.
• Proficiency in reading manuals and schedules for equipment repair and maintenance.
• Thorough understanding of building systems and equipment, with troubleshooting abilities.

Physical Requirements

• Capability to respond to emergencies and perform physically demanding tasks.

Pre-employment

• Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada.
