Power Supply Planning Specialist

Salary Min: $93,300.00 Annually

Salary Max: $115,800.00 Annually

Job Details

• Learn about resource planning and make connections with Power Supply Operations.
• Understand existing resource planning models and update documentation.
• Make changes to models to meet the evolving organizational requirements, Long Term Electric Resource Plan directives, and future Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity filings.
• Perform Scenario Analyses that incorporate various resource options and other models.
• Learn about regulatory processes and respond to formal information requests as needed.
• Research and propose further changes to the models, such as greater integration of intermittent renewables, batteries, and other emerging technologies.

Education

• A bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or economics, with a specialization in operations research, and a minimum of four years of recent and related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• A graduate degree is considered an asset.

Experience

• Demonstrated experience formulating mixed-integer linear programming models/linear programming/optimization is preferred.

Knowledge & Skills

• Exceptional statistics, economics, and mathematical complements with programming and computer science skills, particularly with macros and Python.
• Incredible analytical skills paired with communication skills to work with large Excel models and communicate interpretations to senior stakeholders.
