Code Welders

Job Type: Direct Hire

Pay: $26-30/HOUR

Remuneration

• $2,000 Sign-On bonus/1st shift 
• $3,000 Sign-On Bonus/2nd shift!!

Schedule

• 1st shift is Monday through Friday, 6:00am – 4:30pm and Saturday 6:00am – 2:30pm.
• The 2nd shift is Monday through Friday, 7:30pm to 6:00am.

Job Details:

• MIG Welding
• Fabrication
• Machine set up
• Measuring, cutting, and assembling metal products
• Grinding and polishing finished products
• Testing and inspection of product

Weld Tests

3G plate test: 

You will have (2) ½” weld coupons of SA-516-70 plate to weld together. This will be a GMAW (hard wire) test. It is set at a 15-degree angle. Once the plate has been welded up and cleaned up, strips are cut out to do a bend test. If it passes the bend test without breaking (and has no cracks greater that 1/8”) you pass as a 3G welder. You will then move on to the 6G pipe test.

6G code pipe test

Y you will have (2) pieces of 2” Schedule 80 SA-106B pipe to weld together. This will be a GMAW (hard wire) test. This is taken at a 45-degree angle. Once the pipe has been welded up and cleaned up, strips are cut out to do a bend test. If it passes the bend test without breaking (and has no cracks greater that 1/8”) you have passed as a 6G welder.

• Pass 3g/6g weld test as specified

Experience

• 5+years of Code Welding experience

Work Conditions

• Lift up to 50lbs with or without assistance
• Non-climate controlled facility
