Journeyman Machinist

Location: Prince Geroge, BC

Salary: $41.70 per hour

Position: Full time

Our client has been a leading supplier of wood processing machinery for the Sawmill, Pulp and Paper, and Biomass/Pellet manufacturing industries for over 75 years. We are currently accepting applications for a Journeyman Machinist for their Prince George, BC location. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to experience a wide variety of work on a large selection of machinery from lathes/mills to vertical/horizontal boring mills.

2 shifts available:

• Monday to Thursday (10 hour per day)
• Tuesday to Friday (10 hours per day)
• Shift Time- 6am to 4:30pm

Qualifications:

• Journeyman certification or highly motivated 3rd or 4th year apprentice.

Knowledge & Skills:

• Execute work with minimal assistance and in a timely fashion

• Produce finished product from blueprints

• Firm understanding of feed and speeds and the effect on a variety of materials

• Determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece

• Use precision measuring devices to ensure parts are made to tight tolerances

• Capable of doing set-ups on a wide variety of jobbing work
