Foreman/Supervisor

Location: Los Angeles, CA  
Pay: $45 per hour (based upon experience)
Hours: Monday- Friday; 7:00am-3:30pm
Start: ASAP
Duration: Temporary to Permanent

Schedule

• 8-hour workdays, 
• 5 days per week
• Possible Overtime
• On-call 24/7 
• Some weekends and overtime.

• Directly supervise a team of park maintenance workers, gardeners, and other personnel involved in park operations.
• Provide guidance, training, and support to the team to ensure they perform their duties efficiently and effectively.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations and offer constructive feedback to improve staff performance.

• Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of parks, green spaces, sports fields, and recreational facilities.
• Develop and implement maintenance schedules to ensure the cleanliness, safety, and aesthetic appeal of park areas.
• Coordinate landscaping activities, including planting, pruning, and lawn care, to maintain an attractive and well-groomed appearance.

• Manage and maintain recreational facilities, such as playgrounds, sports courts, and pavilions, ensuring they are safe and functional for public use.
• Coordinate repair and maintenance projects to address issues promptly and minimize downtime for park amenities.

• Assist in developing the department's annual budget, ensuring adequate resources for routine maintenance, repairs, and equipment purchases.
• Monitor budget expenditures and make recommendations to optimize spending while maintaining service quality.
• Oversee inventory control for tools, equipment, and supplies necessary for park maintenance and facility operations.

• Collaborate with other departments and community organizations to organize and support recreational events, community gatherings, and programs in parks and recreational areas.
• Ensure that event setups, safety measures, and logistics are well-coordinated and executed.

• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards in all park and facility maintenance activities.
• Identify potential hazards and implement corrective measures to prevent accidents and injuries.

• Act as a liaison between the parks and recreation department and the community, addressing inquiries and feedback from the public.
• Promote community engagement by encouraging park usage and participation in recreational activities.

• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
• Knowledge of park equipment, landscaping techniques, and maintenance practices.
• Understanding of safety protocols and regulations related to parks and recreational facilities.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Customer-focused with a commitment to enhancing community recreational experiences.

Additional Requirements  

• Must be eligible to work in the United States
• Must have reliable transportation to the job site
• Ability to accomplish a CPR and First Aid Certification training.
