What FWS Group is Hiring for:

 Millwright

Location: Vancouver Metropolitan Area, British Columbia, Canada
Job Type: Full Time
Pay: $40 - $48 per hour depending on experience.

 

DUTIES:

  • Maintain industrial equipment such as conveyor belts and bulk material handling equipment.
  • Mechanical equipment inspections, troubleshooting, repairing, and preventative maintenance.
  • Proficient in material take-offs, interpreting equipment drawings, and providing accurate layout of the work.
  • Ensure assigned tasks are completed in a timely and cost-effective manner with a high level of quality, following safety practices.
  • Utilize safe work practices and promote safety policies.
  • Supervise laborers and resources as required for a specific task.
  • Mentor and train junior workers to develop trade-related skills.
  • Responsible for safe use of equipment, including forklift, skid-steer loader, scissor lifts, power tools, and welding equipment.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Demonstrated ability to perform the duties listed above.
  • Mechanical aptitude with excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge and ability to assemble and commission mechanical systems.
  • Understanding of welding principles.
  • Appropriate experience in industrial maintenance/service environment, agricultural industry experience considered an asset.

PERSONAL SUITABILITY:

  • Demonstrates honesty and integrity in all business interactions.
  • Highly motivated, positive attitude, pleasant demeanor, and ability to handle multiple tasks while working within a team environment and independently.
  • Ability to work in cold & hot weather/environments and green/brown fields sites subject to grain dust.
  • Holds no previous safety violation within the FWS Group of Companies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Red Seal as Millwright, Industrial Mechanic, or Fitter.
  • CWB certification considered an asset.
  • WHIMIS, CSTS will be considered an asset.
  • Valid class driver’s license required with driver’s abstract.
