Seasonal Labourers

Position: Temporary, Full-Time

Pay: $17-20 per hour, DOE

Openings: 3 positions

Location: Medicine Hat, AB

Job Summary 

The seasonal duties are specifically snow and ice control given the current season and other duties related to construction, maintenance and repair of asphalt, concrete and municipal infrastructure for the Municipal Works Department. In this physically demanding role, you must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions for extended periods of time while adhering to all bylaws and regulations.

Tools & Equipment

• Would be able to safety operate basic hand and power tools to perform manual labourer duties related to but not limited to:Snow and ice controlPavement repairsConcrete constructionStorm Water infrastructure operation and maintenanceMaintenance and construction of traffic signs and roadway markingsGeneral construction activities

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including the ability to carry out simple verbal and written instructions

Education

• Successful completion of Grade 12 or high school equivalency diploma

Certificates & Licenses

• Possess and maintain a valid Alberta Class 3 Operator's license with airbrakes and an acceptable driving record
• Possess current Standard First Aid, CPR and AED certification, or the ability to obtain
