CNC Milling Machinist

Location: Cypress, TX

Type: Temp To Perm

Pay: $23-25/hr DOE

Hours: Tuesday - Friday 6am - 4: 30pm

Responsibilities

• Setup and operate CNC Mills Utilize knowledge of working properties and machining processes for a wide variety of materials such as stainless steel.
• Manufacture components within the allotted time estimates provided on job travelers.
• Ensure customer satisfaction with products and service.
• Make process recommendations for improved efficiency to optimize processes, programs and cutting tools.
• Edit CNC programs as required
• Understand and adjust geometric tolerances and geometric dimensions
• Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements
• Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or control media as required
• Use shop floor inspection equipment (mics, calipers, depth mics)

Experience

• Preferred: Three years experience in CNC machining

Knowledge & Skills

• Skill in operating CNC machinery and tooling as well as precision measurement tools
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings
• Must have experience with steady rests & Fanuc Control
• Mechanical aptitude and good math skills
• A keen eye for detail and results-driven approach
• Good communication abilities

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent; certificate or diploma in engineering or relevant discipline is a plus

• Successfully completed apprenticeship is required
