1st Shift Technician Opportunity in Poway, CA - Up to $28.00/Hour

Maintenance Technician – 1st Shift (12-hour shift)

Location: Poway, CA 

Pay: $28 per hour

Position: Full-time

Experience

• Three years of experience in Mechanical, Electrical, and/or Industrial Maintenance required (recent experience preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, laser, hydraulic, pneumatic, and optical equipment and safety policies
• Knowledge and ability to perform Machine Shop functions – Mill, Lathe, Surface Grinder
• Must have good communication skills, both written and spoken
• Knowledgeable of MS Word and Excel
• Team player
• Excellent work ethics, including punctuality

• Able and willing to learn the client's processes and procedures
• Able to train on a different shift and work hours if applicable

Education

• AA/AS Diploma, Trade School or Equivalent applicable experience

Schedule

• Able to work 12-hour shifts and every weekend (Friday - Sunday)
• Previous long-hour shift experience preferred

Travel/Transportation

• Reliable transportation to Poway.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Actively participates in improving facility safety
• Minimizes equipment downtime to facilitate maximum manufacturing productivity
• Documents Preventative Maintenance
• Performs equipment Preventive Maintenance (PM) procedures. Provides input to improve PM procedure effectiveness
• Identifies and procures equipment spare parts to maintain spare parts inventory
• Troubleshoot and repair all types of equipment failures.
• Implements maintenance plan changes to prevent recurrence
• Releases new or modified equipment to manufacturing per validation instructions
• Communicates observations and recommendations to stakeholders
• Able and willing to work overtime on other days than scheduled per business needs
• Performs other duties as required by Maintenance Supervisor.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds
• Moderate to heavy physical effort required
• Regularly required to sit or stand, reach, bend, push/pull, and walk about the facility.

Work Environment:

• Work performed in both a manufacturing and office environment
• Exposure to metals, lubricants, solvents, electrolytes, and other hazardous materials
• At times may be exposed to high noise levels
• Able and willing to wear a client t-shirt onsite
• Safety glasses and safety shoes are required, and other personal safety equipment required depending on the task. (Including but not limited to a full-face shield, apron, arm guards, rubber boots, and gloves).
