1st, 2nd & 3rd Year Apprentice Pipeline Welders Needed (up to $28/hr)

Weaver Group has immediate openings available for: 1st, 2nd & 3rd Year, Welder Apprentices - Pipeline Division

Job Responsibilities:

• Have knowledge of weld types, welding materials, tools, and equipment
• Assist welder(s) to set up rigs and move between work areas
• Utilize buffers and grinders to clean welds
• Ensure welder(s) have required materials and tools available, such as rods and grinding discs
• Maintain stock levels of materials and supplies
• Load and unload trucks
• Follow welders' instructions to adjust welding machine temperatures
• Perform general clean up and ongoing monitoring and maintenance of the work areas
• Comply with all regulatory safety protocol and attend on-site safety meetings
• Identify safety risks and hazards, and comply with relevant safety procedures and regulations

Qualifications/Skills:

• MUST BE LOCAL TO, OR WILLING TO RELOCATE, TO THE PEACE RIVER AREA
• 6+ months work experience in a similar role
• Experience operating small power tools and hand tools
• Proficient knowledge of all aspects of welding
• Knowledge of various types of metals
• Basic English reading and writing skills
• Physically strong, agile and dexterous
• Able to work in a standing position for extended hours
• Resilient to working in adverse climatic conditions
• Available to work shifts and extended hours
• Available to travel to remote areas for extended periods

Education, Certification and Licensing Requirements:

• Current apprenticeship registration with Alberta Industry & Training or another recognized governing body
• Must have a valid class 5 driver's license and reliable transportation
• At minimum, must possess current H2S, Standard First Aid Level C and CSO tickets
