Cutter/Grinder Operator

Location: Meriden, CT

Salary: $18-$30/hour BOE

Job Type: Direct Hire, Full Time

Schedule

• Mon-Fri: 7 am to 3:30 pm; 

• 45 hours/week

Responsibilities:

• Sharpening various types of milling cutters, drills, taps or turning tools as required.

• Manufacturing special form relieved cutters, maintaining inventory of cutter grinding supplies.

• Perform routine maintenance on equipment.

• Maintain quality standards and record quality results.

• Conduct tests and inspections of products or processes to evaluate quality or performance.

• Watch gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques to maximize the effective manufacture of distribution of goods.

• Knowledge of machines and tools including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.

• Ability to determine the kind of tools and equipment they will need in order to do the job properly.

• Knowledge of GD&T a plus

• Ability to use measuring equipment – calipers, micrometers, height gauges, indicators, depth gauges, & size blocks.

• Analytical and shop math skills, as well as working knowledge of Microsoft Excel

• Strong verbal and interpersonal skills
