A job fair in Midland, West Texas, is being seen as a positive indication that the oil economy is slowly bouncing back in the Permian Basin.

Eventures Promotions hosted a job fair for Fountain Quail Energy Services in the city last week. Fountain Quail is a water waste management company which provides services for oil and gas producers and is looking fill up to 20 vacancies.

“I’m just not satisfied with where I am so being out in West Texas now just helps me put my foot into another door,” prospective candidate Justin Dixon told local news reporters.

For the past two years, Dixon has spent most of his days working in waste water treatment for an oilfield company in Austin, but now he’s looking for a better opportunity.

Water management is a top issue for most oil and gas producers.

“It really looks like the boom is about to happen and everything is about to pick back up so I’m pretty excited to see what’s going to unfold in front of me.”

Fountain Quail employers say they’re seeing an increase in oil activity which brings more people out looking for work.
