This Fitter Welder 2 role at FortisBC is ideal for a certified journeyperson welder with experience in pressure piping and pipeline welding. Candidates will work both in-shop and in the field, welding gas transmission and distribution systems. The position transitions to Fitter Welder 1 after 12 months. It suits skilled welders with strong mechanical aptitude and a background in gas utilities.

What you’ll need:

Journeyperson Welder Certificate of Qualification (minimum Level ‘B’)

5 years’ experience in pressure piping or pipeline welding

Valid Class 5 BC driver’s license
-
Ability to qualify to CSA Z662 standards

Proficiency in shop and field welding

Strong mechanical aptitude and physical agility

Ability to interpret engineering drawings and perform fabrication

Safe work habits and clean driving record
