What Cameco Corporation is Hiring for:

Reporting to the metallurgists, you will be responsible for sampling, analyzing daily process and MWTP samples using the UG and Surface labs, performing preventative maintenance on lab instrumentation, following quality control and quality assurance procedures, and assisting metallurgists in their technical support of process operation, process troubleshooting and debottlenecking projects/field studies.

The Metallurgical Technologist is also responsible for ensuring quality control compliance, compiling and issuing reports, and monitoring key KPIs using various software interfaces including DCS, PI, and databases. This includes but is not limited to any field and lab work required for studies and projects.

Requirements of the position:

  • Technical diploma in metallurgy, chemistry or process
  • Minimum 1 – 3 years of relevant work experience
  • Basic laboratory skills
  • Work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft

Assets:

  • Experience working in a heavy industrial environment
  • Experience with basic software packages. Some database and coding experience would be significant assets.

Preference will be given to Residents of Saskatchewan’s North.
