What Cameco Corporation is Hiring for:

Cameco is looking for a motivated and ambitious individual to join our geology team at the world’s second largest high grade uranium deposit, located at the Cigar Lake operation in northern Saskatchewan. Reporting to the Chief geologist, mine, your responsibilities will include diamond drill core logging, oversight for underground development, underground diamond drilling and surface directional drilling, data management, data quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC), radiometric probing, assist with geological and resource modelling, and estimations.

Requirements of the position:

  • Bachelor’s degree in geology or geological engineering
  • Minimum of eight years of relevant geological experience
  • Eligible for membership with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS)
  • Ability and willingness to perform manual labour, including heavy lifting, as required for this position
  • Valid class 5 driver’s licence
  • Safety-oriented work attitude
  • Work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft

Assets:

  • Experience working in a mine geology and an underground work environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent computer skills and the ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Working knowledge of geological database and mining software: AcQuire, Vulcan and Leapfrog.
