What Cameco Corporation is Hiring for:

As a member of the Cigar Lake safety, health, radiation, environment, and quality (SHREQ) team the sr. coordinator is responsible for the management and oversight of the site environmental protection program, quality management program and regulatory affairs. This includes the regulatory compliance, reporting, communication, and interactions related to these programs.

You will lead a team of professionals to ensure the environment and quality programs are implemented effectively by having an active presence in the workplace and being aware of, responding to, and identifying risks. You will be responsible for ensuring regulatory and internal compliance of these programs and you will coordinate the regulatory reporting and responses to inquiries related to the operation with external agencies and internal audit groups.

In this role you will participate in various corporate initiatives while representing the best interests of the operation. You will serve in various functions requiring technical expertise, effective communication, and cooperation with other operations within the corporation. As a designate for the manager SHREQ you may have indirect requirements to help manage the safety, health, radiation, and regulatory affairs programs. 

Requirements of the position:

  • Degree or diploma in engineering or an applicable science
  • Ten years of related experience with two of those being at the coordinator level
  • Equivalent combination of education and work experience considered
  • Extensive knowledge of environmental legislation in uranium mining and milling
  • Experience with environmental management systems
  • Work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft

Assets:

  • P.Eng, P.Geo or other related professional designations
