Spec. Welders Needed in Westlake Louisiana

The position involves certifying multi-process tube welders proficient in SMAW, GTAW, and GMAW welding, with potential x-ray quality requirements. Responsibilities include laying out, aligning, and welding fabricated, cast, and forged components, such as machinery frames, tanks, pressure vessels, and piping, following blueprints and metallurgy standards. The role requires the use of various welding processes, positioning and securing components, and maintaining equipment. Welders are responsible for selecting materials, operating welding equipment, inspecting welds, and ensuring safety and compliance with certifications.

Responsibilities:

• Select pipe materials and equipment per specifications.
• Plan and execute layouts, assembly, and welding based on geometry and welding principles.
• Use various welding processes, including arc, gas-metal arc, flux-cored, gas-tungsten, and submerged arc welding.
• Align and weld components in various positions (flat, vertical, overhead).
• Set up welding equipment and manage electrode processes.
• Ensure weld quality through inspection and adjustment based on visual and auditory cues.
• Perform repair work, including preheating, cleaning, and cutting.
• Transport materials and assist with installation tasks.
• Maintain tools and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
• Pass performance and certification tests as required.
