What Express Employment Professionals is Hiring for:

Millwright / Mechanic

Location: Little Rock, AR

Salary: $14.00 - $20.00 per/hour

Schedule

  • Sunday through Thursday
  • 5:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.
  • with every other Friday.  

Essential Functions:

  • Setup, install, adjust, and maintain production equipment including conveyors, automation, pneumatics, hydraulics, pumps, encoders, variable frequency drives, etc.
  • Equipment Maintenance -Perform routine, predictive, and preventative maintenance on equipment and determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed. Inspect regularly and as needed to ensure proper operation.
  • Complex Problem Solving -Identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options. Implement effective solutions.
  • Operation Monitoring -Watch gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly with maximum efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Operation and Control -Control operation of equipment or systems
  • High and low voltage electrical troubleshooting
  • PLC troubleshooting
  • Welding, fabrication, etc.
  • Cleanup
  • Participate in plant safety, health, and environmental programs
  • Comply with all safety and company policies and procedures
  • Other duties as needed or assigned

Experience

  • Minimum two years experience in industrial machine maintenance preferably in a manufacturing setting (Residential or apartment maintenance does NOT qualify).

Education

  • Minimum education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Mechanical or related engineering degree a plus.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Design –effective knowledge of design techniques, tools and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models
  • Mechanical –effective knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
  • Electronics –effective knowledge of electronic equipment and systems
  • Pneumatics –effective knowledge of pneumatic equipment and systems
  • Computers –effective knowledge of computer hardware and software
  • Judgment and Decision Making –consideration of the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one
  • Must have a high level of attention to detail
  • Must be organized, thorough, reliable, and dependable

Work Conditions

  • Able to work in time sensitive and sometimes stressful situations
  • Able to work independently, prioritize tasks and do researches to find answers in some cases with little guidance
  • Able to follow directions, procedures, and guidelines as directed by supervisor
  • Able to work in a non-climate controlled environment with outdoor exposure
  • Available to work overtime, weekends, and changing shifts, as needed

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work up to 12 hour per day. Hours, days and shifts depend on season and production schedule, and are not guaranteed.
  • Ability for extended periods of time to sit, stand, walk, bend, climb stairs, crouch, squat, lean, reach, twist, grasp, pinch, lift, push, pull, carry, and other physical movements typically necessary for industrial maintenance work.
  • Ability to work in conditions typical of a manufacturing environment as indicated below under “Working Environment”.
  • Ability to wear prescribed personal protective equipment and appropriate clothing.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs.
  • Ability to read, write, type, and verbally communicate fluently in English.
  • Must be able to effectively use a computer, monitor, keyboard, mouse, and commonly used software to complete necessary functions assigned.
  • Must have finger dexterity, visual acuity, discernment of sounds, color, and texture.
  • Must be able to use tools, equipment, machinery, etc.
  • Must be reliable and dependable.
  • Must have the physical and mental ability to drive a standard forklift successfully. 

Work Environment:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, dusty conditions, high noise environments, chemicals used in the process, and extreme temperatures. The facility is an industrial manufacturing plant.
