A
camp-based opportunity for general helpers located just south of Fort
McMurray. Having kitchen experience is an absolute must. Schedule is 7
days on, 7 days off working 12 hour days. Shifts start on Wednesdays.
The General Helper is responsible for assisting in the overall kitchen operations and maintenance. They are also responsible for ensuring the overall cleanliness of our facilities to the highest level.
MUST pass a drug and alcohol test prior to employment.
What you’ll do

Wash, scrub, clean, and sanitize designated kitchen and dining areas
Clean/mop kitchen and dining room floors and sanitize tables
Clean refrigerators, ovens, and other kitchen equipment
Wash pots, dishes, glasses, cups, etc., after each meal and as required
Deep cleaning as required
Restock and rotate desserts, sandwiches, beverages, and condiments
Assist in loading, unloading, and placing supplies and inventory
Qualifications

You have knowledge of standard cleaning procedures, chemicals, products and equipment. Current WHMIS required.

Ideally, you have related experience in a camp setting or hotel setting.

You are fluent in English with good written and verbal communication skills.

Knowledge of food safety standards and practices.

Ability to use common kitchen equipment and appliances safely.

Able to work in a fast-paced environment; You can prioritize multiple demands and organize a work schedule.

You have a strong customer service focus and ability to maintain a positive attitude.

You are able to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds.

You have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with others.
This is a small camp and requires a real team player who is willing to jump in and help wherever, and whenever needed.
FIFO from YEG or YYC available with shuttle service to site from Fort McMurray.
Pay starts at $18/hr and benefits after 90 days.
