Employee Compliance & Food Safety Specialist
Location: Jefferson, OR
Earnings: $65k to 75K per annum DOE
Position: Full time
Food Safety Program Organization:
Work to develop, implement and regulate the food safety programs for ranches that ensure compliance with the industry standards, such as GFSI and FSMA. This includes Client QMS, manuals, risk assessments, grower handouts, audit check lists, etc.
Grower Meetings:
Meet with growers to request information and perform walk thru of farms for audits and understanding of relationship with marketing companies/packing houses.
Facility Information: Responsible for collecting the necessary documents and written policies from packing houses, marketing companies and contractors.
Audits:
Perform internal audits on both Facilities and outside growers so as to ensure they are following the food safety standards set forth by the food safety program. Conduct external audits with third party auditing company and review non-conformances with food safety team.
Employee Safety Training:
Provide employee training such as Pesticide Haz/Comm training, Respirator Fit Testing, Tractor Training, etc. so that all training is done on timely basis. Help coordinate additional training when necessary which may include Growers, Farm Labor Contractors, etc.
Safety Inspections:
Perform quarterly ranch safety inspections with supervisors, document findings and follow up on corrective actions.
Safety Documentation:
Support the IIPP, Food Safety, Lock Out/Tag Out, Equipment, Respirator, Heat Illness written programs to keep in compliance with governmental agencies.
Experience
• 3 Years of Experience in providing Trainings in English/Spanish
• 3 Years of Ag Industry Experience
Knowledge & Skills
• Knowledge of employee safety and food safety programs and audits that include but are not limited to Global GAP, Primus GFS, etc.
• Basic understanding and knowledge on CAL OSHA, CA DPR, and other governmental compliance agencies.
• Proficient with computers including Microsoft Suite, Adobe PDF, Paint, etc.
