Rigger/Roustabout-Offshore GoM

Wood is searching for a Rigger/Roustabout with experience in the oil and gas industry preferably offshore.

Work schedule of 14x14 with a work terminal out of Houma, LA.

Authorization to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship from Wood is required.

• Ensure work is executed in accordance to agreed guidance documents (i.e. work packs, work instructions, procedures) and governing specifications.
• Operates pedestal/boom cranes using hand and foot controls to transfer personnel and supplies to and from platform.
• Responsible for following safety procedures and maintaining safety data.
• Experience and knowledge of crane operation offshore
• Ensure that safe rigging practices are used during the movement of loads including risk assessment, proper lift planning and types of lifts.
• Monitor rigging materials and highlight any overages/shortages to Offshore Fabric Maintenance Supervisor.
• Ensure all rigging equipment is in fit-for-purpose condition (i.e. pre and post use) and quarantine any defective materials.
• Strong working knowledge of industrial rigging practices and equipment.
• Provide leadership and mentoring of ad hoc personnel.
• Must be conversant with all relevant standards, specifications, rules, regulations etc. including Permit to Work (PTW).
• Participate in both Wood and Client safety programs.
• Demonstrated awareness and sensitivity to environmental health and safety issues and liaise with Client and site safety personnel.
• Effective communication skills (written, oral and computer).
• Familiar with quality processes and application of Continuous Improvement (C.I.) tools.
• Ability to understand and react with diverse offshore / onshore groups and operations.
• Additional duties as instructed by supervisor.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 6 months of oil and gas production experience is preferred as a rigger/roustabout

2-4 years rigging experience offshore preferred.

Crane operator experience preferred.
