What You’ll Like About This Job

Marathon Petroleum is hiring Refinery Mechanical Engineers to support fixed equipment integrity and reliability at its Kenai, Alaska facility. This full-time role focuses on troubleshooting, root cause analysis, safety reviews, and capital project support. Ideal candidates will have at least 4 years of mechanical engineering experience in a refinery or heavy industry setting. Relocation assistance is available for qualified applicants.

What you’ll need:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (U.S.-accredited)
  • 4+ years of post-degree experience in refinery or petrochemical environments
  • Ability to obtain TWIC card
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to wear PPE, pass a physical, and work in field environments

What will make you stand out:

  • 5+ years in refinery engineering
  • Expertise in fixed equipment damage mechanisms, FFS, or inspection recommendations
  • Participation in TARs, MOCs, and IOW programs
  • Experience leading or supporting RCFA investigations
