What Jardeg is Hiring for:

Welder Apprentice 

Project Type: Turnaround

Project Location: CNRL Horizon 

Shift: Day or Night 

Schedule: 24/4 - 12 hour days.

Working Conditions

  • Flights and camp accommodations are provided. 
  • Flight hubs are Edmonton and Calgary. 
  • Travel allowance is provided for employees who reside outside of Alberta. 
  • For employees local to Fort McMurray there is a bus that goes to and from site daily, you can also drive to site daily or choose to stay in camp for the duration of the turnaround.

Responsibilities:

  • Join or sever metals in beams, girders, vessels, piping and other metal components.
  • Make metal parts used in construction and manufacturing plants, and assist to weld parts, tools, machines and equipment.
  • Assist welders in use of different welding processes and fillers depending upon the type of metal, its size and shape and requirements for finished product strength.
  • Develop patterns for projects or follow directions given in layouts, blueprints and work orders.
  • Clean, check for defects and shape component parts, sometimes using a cutting torch to weld parts together.
  • Assist welders in setting up equipment and preparing tools.
  • Any other task required by welders.

Certificates & Licences

  • Common Safety Orientation (CSO).
  • Energy Safety Canada Certified Fall Protection.
  • Energy Safety Canada Certified Confined Space Entry
  • Energy Safety Canada Certified Fire Watch

Experience

Previous oilfield maintenance or facility construction experience.

Pre-employment

Valid Government Issued ID.
