What DCM Group is Hiring for:

Pipefitters

The Steamfitter/Pipefitter will be responsible for the installation and repair of low/high pressure piping systems and their components. Through the use of blueprints and project specifications, the Steamfitter/Pipefitter will construct and repair piping systems that carry water, steam chemicals and fuel.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications to determine layout requirements;
  • Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machine;
  • Select type and size of pipe required;
  • Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools;
  • Weld, braze, cement, solder, and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system;
  • Fusing of HDPE pipe and bonding when working with PVC and CPVC plastic pipe;
  • Install supports, valves, piping and control systems;
  • Test system for leaks using testing equipment;
  • Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush system;
  • Remove and replace worn components and reactivate system;
  • Involved in working with power tools and heavy equipment.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Journeyman Ticket or valid Apprenticeship
  • Steamfitter/Steamfitter/Pipefitter Red Seal Certificate;
  • High degree of attention required to prevent injury to self and others;
  • Perform heavy maintenance work involving climbing, rigging, and exposure to high pressure hydraulic and pneumatic systems in accordance with all company safety procedures;
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence;
  • Demonstrate practical problem solving ability. Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • 7&7 rotation (Shift Cycle is subject to change during turnaround)
  • Chartered flights are provided out of Edmonton and Calgary to site
  • Ability to lift and carry objects alone or as a team;
  • Required to use power and hand tools to complete work.

Journeyman/Apprentice Ironworker

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Read and interpret blueprints
  • Unload or stack steel parts
  • Erect and install scaffolding, hoisting equipment and rigging
  • Align and weld or bolt steel units in place
  • Assemble and erect pre-fabricated metal structures
  • Examine structures and equipment for deterioration, defects, or non-compliance with specifications
  • Dismantle structures and equipment when required

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Journeyman Ticket or valid apprenticeship
  • OSSA Fall Protection and EWP tickets required
  • Permit Training is an asset
  • High degree of attention required to prevent injury to self and others;
  • Perform heavy maintenance work involving climbing, rigging, and exposure to high pressure hydraulic and pneumatic systems in accordance with all company safety procedures.

Electricians

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, and electrical code specifications to determine the layout of industrial electrical equipment installations
  • Install, examine, replace or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fiber-optic and coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures, and other electrical components
  • Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage, and resistance
  • Maintain, repair, install and test switchgear, transformers, switchboard meters, regulators, and reactors
  • Maintain, repair, test, and install electrical motors, generators, alternators, industrial storage batteries, and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems
  • Troubleshoot, maintain and repair industrial, electrical and electronic control systems and other related devices
  • Conduct preventive maintenance programs and keep maintenance records
  • Install, maintain, and calibrate industrial instrumentation and related devices
  • May have to drive light equipment and light vehicles
  • Inventory and material count
  • Tools and equipment inspection
  • Gather equipment and materials
  • Develop and review hazard assessments
  • May have to inspect materials and equipment
  • Assist the electrical foreman in the completion of work
  • Review blueprints and plans

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Completion of formal Apprenticeship Program
  • MI splicing ticket
  • High degree of attention required to prevent injury to self and others
  • English speaking/listening/writing
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Demonstrate practical problem-solving ability. Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 WORKING CONDITIONS

  • 14&7 rotation, 10 hours per day (Shift Cycle is subject to change)
  • Flights are provided from Edmonton or Calgary
