West Fraser is hiring for full-time Millwrights and Operator Apprentices at their Lufkin, TX location. These roles are part of the company’s lumber production and sawmill operations. Millwrights will repair and maintain industrial machinery, while Operator Apprentices will begin in entry-level general labor functions and progressively cross-train into skilled roles. Both positions include structured safety training, full health benefits from day one, and long-term advancement opportunities within a growing global company.

What you’ll need:

Millwright Role:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3+ years Millwright experience in industrial setting
  • Welding & torch cutting (GMAW & SMAW)
  • Mechanical repair experience
  • Willing to work rotating shifts and be on-call

Operator Apprentice Role:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum age 18
  • Good attendance and safety record
  • Willingness to work any shift and cross-train in departments
  • Mechanical aptitude and basic maintenance skills

What will make you stand out:

  • Experience in sawmill or wood products manufacturing
  • Proven mechanical or equipment maintenance experience
  • Ability to learn new systems and train others
