Acden is currently accepting applications for three (3) Class One (1) Operators to join its Offsites operations in Fort McMurray, Alberta. This position will consist of 7 days on, 7 days off; 12-hour day shifts; however, schedules, shifts and site locations may change from time to time to meet operational requirements.

What will the role entail?

  • Maintain waste services through collection and transportation of waste and equipment
  • Operate truck-mounted hydraulic hoisting devices and various highway tractor/trailers including Lugger, Roll Off, and Front Load
  • Complete thorough Commercial Vehicle Inspections, including documenting and reporting of deficiencies promptly to immediate Supervisor
  • Inspect condition of waste bins, report defects, and monitor condition and functionality
  • Notify Dispatch of delays, unsafe work sites, incidents, equipment breakdowns and/or other maintenance or operational concerns.
  • Ensure all waste services are completed in a safe and timely manner
  • Address and resolve client concerns and when appropriate refer inquiries to Leadership
  • Ensure housekeeping and cleanliness of worksites and equipment are sustained

What are the job requirements?

  • Valid Class One (1) Operator’s Licence or equivalent is required
  • Three (3) years of Commercial driving experience is required
  • Successfully complete a driver’s evaluation on a manual 18-speed Class 1 Vehicle is required
  • Commercial Abstract demonstrating a pattern of safe and compliant driving behavior is a requirement
  • If selected for an interview, you must submit 5-year commercial drivers’ abstract that is not more than 30 days old is required
  • Comprehensive pre-employment Drug, Alcohol, Hearing, Visual and Physical Abilities, Testing is required
  • Must be eligible to acquire access to all Acden client sites is a requirement

What are the job qualifications?

  • Three (3) or more years of Super-B/ long haul driving experience is an asset
  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) knowledge and working experience is an asset
  • Load Securement Experience as per the Alberta Provincial Hours of Service Regulations is required
  • Experience with Roll Off, Front Load Waste Trucks, 53-Foot Enclosed Trailers, and Low Boys is a strong asset.
  • Experience adhering to the Alberta Provincial Hours of Service Regulations
  • Valid Common Safety Orientation (CSO) or equivalent
