Job Summary

The Hot Oil Truck Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining a hot oil truck to safely and efficiently perform oilfield services, including heating oil, water, and other fluids as required by the job. This role requires a thorough understanding of oilfield operations, equipment maintenance, and safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate hot oil truck in a safe and efficient manner to heat oil, water, and other fluids for various oilfield operations.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on the vehicle, ensuring all equipment is in proper working condition.
  • Set up and operate hot oil equipment, including pumps, hoses, and burners, according to job requirements and safety standards.
  • Monitor gauges and controls to ensure correct temperatures and pressure levels are maintained.
  • Load and unload fluids at designated locations, adhering to all environmental and safety regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of services performed, including job tickets, logs, and reports.
  • Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on equipment as needed; report major mechanical issues to maintenance.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers, and clients to ensure job requirements are understood and met.
  • Assist in other oilfield services as required, including rig-ups, rig-downs, and general maintenance tasks.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with necessary endorsements (Class A or B).
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience operating a hot oil truck or similar equipment in the oilfield industry.
  • Knowledge of oilfield services, including heating and pumping operations.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform minor maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment.
  • Understanding of safety regulations, environmental compliance, and industry best practices.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including lifting, bending, and standing for long periods.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required by the job.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Prolonged periods of driving, standing, and manual labor
